Q. I notice you have a new website. Does my old user name and password work?
A. No, you will need to create a new profile and reenter all of your information. You will only need to do this once, the first time you use the new website.
Q. In which Division should I register my child?
A. The website will only allow you to register your child in their age-appropriate division. The full Age Calculation Charts for baseball and softball can be found by clicking on "Rules and Regulations". NOTE - Due to different cutoff dates for baseball and softball, girls born between May 1 2011-December 31, 2011 will see both 8U softball and Instructional Baseball as options. The cutoff for 8U softball is April 30, 2011, girls born after that date should register for Instructional baseball.
Q. Should I sign up for 8U SOFTBALL or INSTRUCTIONAL BASEBALL?
A. 8U Softball is for girls born between January 1, 2008 and April 30, 2011. Girls born after April 30, 2011 should register for INSTRUCTIONAL BASEBALL, a coed division.
Q. Do I need to upload an image of my player's birth certificate?
A. Only players new to NYBS need to provide an image of their birth certificate when prompted in the registration process. If you have played NYBS before, you may skip this step.
Q. I would like my child to play up/down a division. What should I do?
A. You will be asked during the registration process if you would like your child to be considerd to play up/down a division. Choose your selection from the drop down menu. Please note that you are making a request, players from upper divisions are chosen at draft, and only as needed to fill rosters. Not all requests can be honored. All players will be registered to their age-appropriate divisions, decisions about playing up/down will be made by league officials and/or coaches during team drafts.
Q. Are baseball/softball pants part of the provided uniform?
A. For players in Baseball Babe Ruth, Majors, AAA, AA, and in Softball 12U, 10U, 8U, a pair of pants is paid for through your registration and can be picked up at Ryan & Sons in Attleboro Center. Pants are available for purchase at Ryan & Sons for players in other divisions.
Q. What equipment does my player need?
A. Your player needs their own cleats and fielding glove. A protective "cup" is required for all catchers. Most kids use their own bat, but it is not required. All teams are provided an equipment bag that contains a bat, batting helmets, catcher's equipment and catcher's glove.
